It's been 6 months.

So I did it again. I posted and then stopped posting for a while, well this time I’m going to stick to my word and actually post an article a week (minimum) you have my word.

Looking at the title of this article, you’re probably thinking, 6 months since?

So on May the 3rd I was celebrating 6 months of a new life. On November 3rd I received my LVAD and it was definitely a day to celebrate.

I took a read through my old posts and a part of me broke down a little when I read what I had written about not being able to walk or even get out of bed because I cant imagine how life would be if it were still the same. Thankfully its not and I am able to do most of the things I want to.

I take pride on how far I have come, it isn’t easy to recover from something like this so easily. I am able to go on 10km walks, lift weights and most importantly do 90% of the things I used to do before facing Heart-Failure. I completely built myself up from scratch, I did everything my Doctors, Nurses and people supporting me told me to do, took it slowly and now im able to take off the training wheels and live my life.

I am truly blessed that I have had such a smooth time with this machine and I hope this carries on until I receive my heart-transplant.

A lot of people tell me they have respect for me for going through a tough situation but there are some absolute warriors out there who face problems even more complicated than mine. I go back to hospital quite often for check ups and its very upsetting to see some of the patients who were there whilst I was, some of them who were even there before me. I have utmost respect for them because they are the true warriors, they never give up and their families never stop believing.

I know I’ve said this many times before and It’s all over my website but if you haven’t yet, please sign up to be an Organ Donor. I read a shocking article the other day that stated that there are only 5.8 donors per Million people in Hong Kong. Since I launched my website, the amount of Organ Donors has increased. As of January 6th 2017 there were 242,267 people signed up to be Organ Donors. On the 5th of May, the website was updated it showed that there were 250,709 people signed up. That means 8442 people have signed up since. Sadly that is still not enough, people think that they cannot be an Organ Donor because they are old but that is not true, you can still be a donor till the age of 80.

Please take a minute to sign up to be an Organ Donor, you could save someones life and bless them with a second chance -

Before I end this post, please do send out some positive thoughts and vibes towards the people who have been in hospital for a long time because they’re the true champions!

The importance of being an organ donor!

The fact that signing up to be an Organ donor you could save up to eight human beings from dying is a bigger positive than you can imagine. Saving a humans life is one of the things people can sometimes only imagine of doing. Through the act of Organ Donation, YOU can change this.

Organ Donation gives everyone the ability to save a life. In fact, your eyes could help someone you’ve never met see the world. Your organs could make someone on the edge of dying get their breath back. Organ Donation mostly takes place after a signed up Organ Donor has passed. There is an extremely large gap between the number of registered donors compared to those awaiting Organ Donation world wide.

The way I look at it is like this - when you were a child, you probably had the idea of one day wanting to be a Super-hero. Once you pass, you will no longer be needing those organs and they could be put to great use by saving another human beings life. When a person receives an Organ Transplant, not only do you become their hero, but you also become a hero to the many people involved in his/her life.
