December 14, 2016

It’s a good day. I woke up with my nurse by my bedside and she told me some great news. I was finally going to be discharged, Unofically discharged. This meant that I would be able to sleep at home but I would have to come back to the hospital everyday until the 23rd o...

December 13, 2016

So school ended today for all my friends. Since its the winter holidays and Christmas is just around the corner my friend decided to just hang out and chill because we haven’t in ages. I woke up in the morning super excited to get to school to see everyone and I reache...

December 8, 2016

Its been 6 months since I was last in School and I haven’t seen my friends in ages. I requested special permission from my nurse and doctor if I could go see my friends at school for a couple of hours and they gave me the green light. I woke up early so that my IV medi...

When the LVAD was created, I think the least important aspect taken into account was the fashion side of it. The bag that comes with an LVAD is very basic and is just a man-bag which I could honestly say only a grandpa would carry. I’m really sorry, I know it serves it...

December 2, 2016

I’ve been going to Physio everyday now and I’m really happy with my improvement. I’m now able to go on the treadmill for 15 minutes, use the bicycle for 15 minutes and then work on the leg press machine for 15 minutes all in the same session. I wouldn’t think that I’d...

If you live in Hong Kong and you’re a teenager, the one place you should be this weekend is Clockenflap. Clockenflap is possibly one of the best if not the only outdoor concert weekends we have here. Different artists from around the world come to preform, but lets be...

November 15, 2016

I’ve finally been transferred out of ICU and this whole thing has really given me some great motivation to keep pushing and hopefully get discharged soon. I’m still not able to walk and am pretty much bed ridden. Im starting to learn more about my LVAD, how to change t...

November 10, 2016

It’s been a week since I’ve had my LVAD and I cannot explain how painful this is. The day after my operation I was asked to get out of bed and I was so nervous. I couldn’t really even move and they wanted me to get out of bed and sit out… I stepped out of bed and after...

November 4, 2016

I woke up at 4:45 the next morning. I have never felt so much pain in my life. I had a tube down my throat to help provide oxygen whilst I was sleeping. The tube went about half way into my chest and was the most uncomfortable thing ever. I wasn’t able to speak properl...

November 3, 2016

I guess 3 should be my new lucky number. I had my last operation on October 3rd and today is exactly a month later, November 3rd.

I was woken up at 5:30am just like the last operation and the nurses came in to check in that everything was fine and stable and that we st...

The importance of being an organ donor!

The fact that signing up to be an Organ donor you could save up to eight human beings from dying is a bigger positive than you can imagine. Saving a humans life is one of the things people can sometimes only imagine of doing. Through the act of Organ Donation, YOU can change this.

Organ Donation gives everyone the ability to save a life. In fact, your eyes could help someone you’ve never met see the world. Your organs could make someone on the edge of dying get their breath back. Organ Donation mostly takes place after a signed up Organ Donor has passed. There is an extremely large gap between the number of registered donors compared to those awaiting Organ Donation world wide.

The way I look at it is like this - when you were a child, you probably had the idea of one day wanting to be a Super-hero. Once you pass, you will no longer be needing those organs and they could be put to great use by saving another human beings life. When a person receives an Organ Transplant, not only do you become their hero, but you also become a hero to the many people involved in his/her life.
